Our Instructors

At Cha’s Taekwon-do, instruction is built around consistency, experience, and a shared commitment to helping each student improve.

Our instructors work closely together to maintain the same standards throughout the school so students receive clear, consistent guidance as they progress through the curriculum.

Because our school is family-operated, students have the opportunity to train with instructors who share the same teaching philosophy, expectations, and long-term approach to Taekwon-do.

Grandmaster Kwang H. Cha

Grandmaster Cha has dedicated much of his life to the practice and teaching of Taekwon-do.

His approach emphasizes strong fundamentals, proper technique, discipline, consistency, and continued improvement.

Rather than focusing only on belt advancement, Grandmaster Cha encourages students to understand the purpose behind their techniques and to continually refine what they have already learned.

His teaching philosophy has helped shape the structure and standards used throughout Cha’s Taekwon-do today.

Grandmaster Cha continues to play an important role in maintaining the traditions, expectations, and quality of instruction within the school.

Instructor Jung W. Cha

Master Jung W. Cha brings extensive experience as both a practitioner and instructor.

His teaching emphasizes technical development, attention to detail, and helping students understand how each movement connects to the broader Taekwon-do curriculum.

He works with students of different ages and experience levels and helps ensure that each student receives the corrections and guidance necessary for continued development.

Master J. Cha also plays an important role in advanced training and the continued development of students as they progress through the ranks.

Instructor Sung H. Cha

Master Sung H. Cha works closely with students throughout their Taekwon-do development, from foundational training through more advanced material.

His instruction focuses on proper execution, consistency, control, and helping students become more confident in their understanding of the curriculum.

He emphasizes the importance of both technical ability and the discipline required to continue improving over time.

Master S. Cha also works to ensure that students are challenged appropriately while still receiving the support and instruction necessary to progress successfully.

A Family Approach to Teaching

One of the strengths of Cha’s Taekwon-do is the continuity between our instructors.

Although each instructor has an individual teaching style, the curriculum, expectations, and standards remain consistent.

Students may train with different instructors throughout the week while continuing to receive instruction based on the same principles and progression.

This helps provide continuity in training while also allowing students to benefit from the different perspectives and strengths of each instructor.

Individual Attention

Our instructors make an effort to know each student and understand where they are in their development.

Even within group classes, students receive individual corrections and guidance based on their rank, experience, and technical needs.

We believe students progress best when expectations are clear and feedback is specific.

Our goal is to help each student understand what they are doing well, what needs improvement, and what they should continue working toward.

Maintaining High Standards

Our instructors share a responsibility for maintaining the standards of the school.

This includes:

  • Proper technique and fundamentals
  • Appropriate progression through the curriculum
  • Structure and discipline within classes
  • Safe and responsible training
  • Respect between instructors and students
  • Consistent expectations across the program
  • Continued development beyond belt advancement

We want every student to understand that progression in Taekwon-do is earned through knowledge, ability, consistency, and effort.

Teaching Children, Teenagers & Adults

Because our students learn from one continuous Taekwon-do curriculum, our instructors adjust the way material is presented based on the student’s age and level of development.

Younger students may require a different teaching approach than teenagers or adults, but the techniques and underlying curriculum remain consistent.

This allows students to continue developing naturally as they grow without having to transition into an entirely different system.

Meet Our Instructors

The best way to understand our teaching approach is to experience it firsthand.

Whether you are considering Taekwon-do for yourself, your child, or your family, we welcome the opportunity to introduce you to our instructors and our training environment.
